New Processors: The AMD-Intel Match Up



AMD is launching a new pair of processors as well as Intel with their G6950 Clarkdales. AMD provides the computer/processor market with the Phenom II x2 555 and the Athlon II x4 635. Both companies are targeting the $100 market.

Intel Processors: Out Comes the Core i3



The Core i3 is clocked at 2.93GHz. No Turbo modes and has 4MB of L3 Cache shared between 2 cores. The Core i3 530 would run as low as 1.33GHz but no more than 2.93GHz.

For the overclocking and gaming community, the Intel Core i3 can be overclocked up to 4GHz on a stock cooler.

CES 2010: Intel's "WiDi" (Wireless Display) Technology

New Year, New Intel Procies


The New Year brings about 2 new Intel procies. The Intel Core i3 and mobile Core i5 processors are slated to be out by January 7 of next year, 2010. The Intel Core i5 processor is said to be quad-core, the 2 new processors are just dual-core but even if they are, Intel has added an extra: integrated GPU cores for both processors.

iMac 27" All-in-One Shipping Delays and Graphics Issues



Apple has delayed shipment of their new iMac 27 inches. Some say it's due to the high volume of orders. iMac's online store changed shipping times from '5-7 days' and '7-10 days' to 2 weeks.

Intel Core i9: Auctioned at eBay



The new Intel Core i9, not due until next year, was seen on eBay. The processor is believed to be a possible leak from one of Intel's manufacturers/distributors. Gulftown, the new procie's codename,  offers 6 cores of computing power and the eBay item was tagged as an
Intel 6-Core Xeon Westmere Gulftown 2.4GHZ LGA1366 ES.

Intel's i9 Preview


Intel's core i9, an engineering sample, was tested by Polish PCLab. The sample contains 6-cores carrying 12mb of level 3's. The new processor is part of Intel's roadmap to building their next line of multi-core, energy efficient processors.
