Of course everyone is used to set up their home theater or regular VCR, VCD, DVD component to the TV (or whatever it is that you use for display). Now, Intel is changing that concept and introduces Wireless Display Technology or 'WiDi'.
The process involves the use of a WiDi-enabled Laptop with one of Intel's new Core-series CPUs and a wireless adapter box that is connected to the screen either via HDMI or regular AV plugs.
As described by Intel:
Intel Wireless Display requires a laptop PC based on select 2010 Intel Core processors, Intel HD Graphics, and Intel Centrino wireless with Intel MyWiFi Technology enabled. In addition, the laptop needs to have Intel Wireless Display preinstalled. Finally, an adapter featuring Intel Wireless Display is required to receive the signals from the PC and display them on the TV. This adapter is connected to the TV via either HDMI (preferred) or standard AVIntel is expecting several PC makers to provide the said type of systems and make them available by January 17 through Best Buy.
