VIA's 'MINI' Server: The M'SERVE / M'SERV


Made available for the Small Business and Home users, VIA introduces their little computer M'SERV. This unit runs on a VIA 64-bit processor and supports DDR2 memory and SATA HDD's.
The M'SERV S2100 also dual gigabit LAN ports letting users hook up to the internet and the local network at the same time.

The M'SERV also provides a few more features such as Virtualization Technology, allowing network access to multiple virtual environments. It allows OS installation on a CF (Compact Flash) Memory Card and booting from it. The unit has been tested to support the following Operating Systems: Windows XP, Windows 7 (32 & 64-bit versions), Windows Server 2008 R2, Linux and FreeBSD.

VIA has not yet announced how much this 'low-noise' and 'low power consumption' small form factor server costs but with the specifications provided, this should be a budget alternative for consumers.
