'Black Screen of Death' information

Is there any truth to a possible 'black screen of death' as opposed to the well-known Windows error blue screen of death? Let us check on a few possibilities so as to decipher if it should be, if any, a big concern to the computer world.
According to Ed Bott, people shouldn't be alarmed of such errors. Situations like these basically tell the user that at some point in the startup process, a small program, driver, loading software did not load properly and/or did not load at all.

Comparing it with the 'blue screen of death', more often than not, blank/black screens do not generate any error codes or messages at all.  Blue screens provide information as to what went wrong with the system and also offer some quick troubleshooting steps (restart has always been part of it) to possibly solve the problem.

There is also that possibility, the most basic that I (Gigatalia) have encountered, that a simple USB drive is keeping your system from booting up. This could be due to the 'boot other device' option switched on.

And so as a whole, contrary to what has been recently rumored in the digital world, there is no dreaded black screen of death. Unless of course you are your own system's cause of black screens.
