Dell Inc. introduces the Vostro V13 laptop which will be available by the end of the year (hmm..shopping before the next year kicks in?). It appears that the new line resembles the Adamo, also from Dell, only that the Vostro is about 3x cheaper than the Adamo series.
The new noteboook is about 0.65 inches or 16.5mm thin, similar to that of the Adamo. Comparing their prices, the Adamo comes in at $1,499 with a 13.4" screen while the V13 is good to go for as low as $449.
The Ubuntu Linux OS and an Intel Celeron processor start up for the $449 priced model. And Windows 7 fits in for the $649 model. They come in fitted with anti-glare LCD's with white LED backlights and a 1366x768 screen resolution. By default, its processor is an Intel Core 2 CULV processor although other options are available such as: 1.2GHz Celeron 743, 1.3GHz Core 2 Duo SU7300, or 1.4GHz Core 2 Solo SU3500.
Wireless connectivity might be missing on the laptop but it still comes packed with an ethernet port, e-sata, USB, ExpressCard/34, Headphone Out, Microphone In, 5-in-1 card reader and a VGA port.
