Google Chrome: Top 10 Extensions



For those using Google Chrome, here are the Top 10 Extensions that you can use. These extensions, however, are only available to those running Windows XP and Vista for the time being. The extensions are available for the 'Beta' Google Chrome version so for those running Windows 7, you'll just have to stick with the 'Add ons' for now.
1. Web of Trust (WoT)

     This extension assists users by warning them about potential/risky Web sites or web content preventing them from falling into scamming sites as well. It warns the user by the use of a traffic light graphic.


2. Xmarks bookmarking Sync

     Xmarks allow users to backup their bookmarks, sync bookmarks across the network and allows selective syncing of bookmarks for whichever computer.


3. Shareaholic
     The Shareaholic extensions allows sharing of web content with various social networking websites like facebook, twitter, reddit, linkedin. You can share and save visited contents/websites onto facebook and twitter.


4. LastPass
    This tool is a password manager and form filler. It acts the same way as RoboForm only that it doesn't limit itself to 1 password storage vendor. Information is encrpyted before it is sent so no password is  leaked over the internet.


5. IE Tab
     This extensions/add on has gained popularity even on other browsers especially Firefox. Now this extension has arrived on Chrome. IE Tab allows users to run programs/features that require Internet Explorer on the Google Chrome browser. No need to open 2 separate programs and eat up that additional resource.



6. Cooliris
     Allows users to 'easily' browse for photos and videos on youtube, flickr, picasa, google, etc. It removes the hassle of clicking and thumbing through the video links and images like you would on a regular internet browser.


7. ShowIP
     This extension basically shows the IP address that your ISP has provided.


8. MakeGadget
     MakeGadget allows a web application to be accessible on your desktop via a gadget like pop up.


9. RandomMagic
     RandomMagic is a decision-helping tool (if you call random a decision) with 3 mini apps: a coin flipper, dice roller, and random number generator. If you feel like you're undecided, let the tool do it for you.


10. Jamendo Radio
     Under the creative commons licenses, Jamendo Radio streams music that are truly DRM-free on Jamendo.com.
